Tonight was the last night of the Gospel Festival in Kibera, and it was nothing short of incredible. People came in droves, more than 100,000 of them, to hear the life-changing message of Jesus.
Now the enemy fought hard against the work of God all week. There were issues with equipment, the worship team was in a car accident on their way to the Crusade, there were even outbreaks of violence & attacks against the people. We were at war....engaged in a great battle. And our enemy was relentless with his attacks against this place & its people. But we prayed, & we persevered & we united together....& tonight we witnessed the awesome overcoming power of God!
Thousands of people gave their lives to Jesus, demons were cast out & many recieved a supernatural touch of healing from God.
I can't even begin to describe to you the sweet sound of thousands of people lifting up their voices, declaring at the top of their lungs an allegiance to Jesus! It was like getting a chance to listen in on Heaven.
And then our night concluded w/an awesome celebration of praise to God for His great love, grace, freedom & salvation. This was a party in the best of ways...the people danced & cheered. They lifted their hands to the Lord & shouted for joy. This was our victory cry & Jesus was the victor!
Now it may be true that Kibera is the largest slum in Africa....but tonight, this was no slum...this was a palace...where the kingdom of God had come & where the king of all kings, Jesus reigns!
So for all that we encountered & contended for this week....one thing is for certain...in the end, God did what He always does.....He wins!
